Deck Girder Bridges

We model deck girder bridges in G-Scale, with great attention to design detail. We make them in three different lengths: 1-, 2-, and 3-foot. They are made from laser-cut acrylic, finished in black, and are very strong and weather resistant. The bridges can be used either indoor or outdoor, and work great for running trains or to display a model engine or train car(s).

 Locomotive Joe is a maker of model train lamps and accessories. Most of our items are G-Scale, but we also make lamps in O-Scale. We carry end-of-track bumpers, bridges, and buildings too. And our fun bumper sticker decals are carried exclusively on our partner site.  Our original product was our G-Scale goose neck lamp with a weathered finish. A search to find lamps in the style of the early to mid 1900s railroads with a rough, worn exterior came up short. So we created what we needed for our layout buildings. We wanted a rusty, weathered look and were happy with how they turned out. That was the point when we decided to create more of them to see if others would also enjoy them. Turns out there was a need, and we have been lighting up layouts ever since. Powering Our Lamps

Our lamps are outfitted with 12-volt bulbs ready to light up your model train buildings. Powering them is easy and there are many options. Some examples are railroad layout track power, solar panel, garden lighting system, power pack, battery, and plug-in adapter. Our standard bulbs are incandescent and use 60mA of power per lamp. The wires are non-polarized, meaning either wire can be attached to the positive terminal and the other to negative. They can be powered with either AC or DC.  Powering at 12 volts is optimal, but you can also use more or less. Lighting at a lower voltage will result in the light being dimmer, while lighting with a higher voltage will make the bulb burn brighter. A higher voltage will also decrease the lifespan of the bulb, which is rated for 16,000 hours of use at 12 volts. Contact us if you would like to have custom lamps made with LEDs.
